Real Bride: Ekaterina & Laurence
A London Love Story at the Old Marylebone

Join us in celebrating the effortlessly elegant wedding of Ekaterina and Laurence, who tied the knot in a beautifully intimate ceremony at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall in London. Expecting their little one and glowing at 35 weeks pregnant, Ekaterina looked breathtaking in our timeless Verona Gown, a classic silhouette that perfectly balanced comfort and glamour for her special day.

Where did you meet?
We met in the most modern way possible - online! We consider our first date our anniversary date, because we both just knew…
It turns out that we visited the same places and worked about 300 meters away from each other for years, but never bumped into each other. Our profiles were deleted within the week and we have never looked back.
Where did you get married and why did you choose the venue?
We got married at the Old Marylebone Town Hall. Our decision to get married before the baby arrives was a little last minute and we knew that neither of us was looking for a big wedding. The venue is so historical and beautiful, which made it the perfect option for us. We have both lived in London for a long time, and it meant a lot to us to include something iconic from our city.

Tell us about the dress!
I was taken aback by how little choice there is for maternity dresses out there. In my head, I thought I would be spoilt for options, but it turned out to be so much more complex! My initial search was for a white dress in a large size. I thought I would get away with it because at that point I thought I was huge - but as it turns out, I hadn’t even begun to really grow 🙂
I don’t know why, but initially I was reluctant to try a specialty maternity dress like those made by Tiffany Rose. But the moment I did - I knew it was the absolute best decision! I ordered five dresses and they all fit! (The returns process was incredibly efficient and easy). Compared to all my previous attempts, this was a miracle.
The forms are so well considered for the pregnancy shape and the fabrics are wonderfully soft and comfortable. I added tiny pieces to make the dress feel a bit more my own and I honestly felt like a princess all day. At 35 weeks pregnant I was unbelievably comfortable and I didn’t feel any less glamorous for it.

What advice would you have for other brides planning a wedding?
I imagine things are very different if you are not heavily pregnant and have a lot of time to plan a wedding 🙂
What I can say from my personal experience is - choosing a dress is so much more difficult than it looks! I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I felt so comfortable and confident that I could actually focus on enjoying my day! My advice would be to really take your time selecting the person who does your hair and makeup - and your photographer.
Hair and makeup artists have special training to help you look your absolute best for the camera as well as on the day. A good wedding photographer will make your venue, you, and your guests look amazing regardless of the weather or circumstances. I did many things myself with my sister, like the flowers and decoration, to save on cost. Once you have your dress and style picked, I would say these are the people not worth saving on, as they will literally make or break the memory of your big day.
I cannot recommend the team I chose highly enough!
