A Chapel Wedding in the USA

Rachel and Adam planned a stunning wedding in a chapel based at the University where Rachel works as an Art Curator. Rachel chose to wear our Amelia Lace Maternity Gown in Ivory - and it was the perfect choice. These photos are incredible!

Where did you meet?

We met in Chattanooga, TN! I relocated here for work in 2020. Adam grew up in Chattanooga and I was raised in Atlanta, GA, so we have a lot in common and connected right away!

Where did you get married?

We married at Patten Chapel on the campus of University of Tennessee Chattanooga (which is also where I work as the director and curator of the Institute of Contemporary Art and where I also manage the university's fine art collection). The historic chapel is over 100 years old and was just a perfect timeless venue for our small family wedding. Our pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga (and just a few blocks down the road) officiated the ceremony. We enjoyed a reception family dinner at The Creag restaurant at McLemore with scenic views of our beautiful area on Lookout Mountain.

Tell us about the dress!

I was so happy to come across Tiffany Rose's bridal collection online after having some negative experiences trying on dresses at local shops that are "bump friendly." Not every bump is the same shape and size, and I realized I needed to find someone that specializes in maternity bridal wear so I didn't feel like a snowman in white! I chose the Amelia Dress in long because I wanted something that showed off my growing belly and baby and I'm proud of my figure (and growing family) right now! I ordered it around 5 months pregnant and wore it at 7 months (29 weeks) and it had plenty of give for me to grow before the wedding date. Also, it's really hot in the American South in June and the dress did not feel hot at all! The dress was the least of my concerns on wedding day, which was a huge relief.

Do you have any advice for other pregnant brides planning a wedding?

As we planned our wedding ourselves, I made sure to plan in extra time to sit down, eat meals, drink water, and do things at a reasonable pace so that I could last from breakfast to dinnertime on a busy day (with no nap or break). I also planned a change of shoes for the reception dinner.

Any Fun Facts?

Adam is a firefighter, and we have 2 boys (1 each from our previous marriages). We are welcoming our baby daughter in August and are so excited for our future as a family of 5!

Get The Look

Opulent lace is showcased across the shoulders, neckline and elbow length sleeves for incredible femininity that's also beautifully demure and timeless..

Underneath that intricate floral lace, sits a layer of soft ivory jersey that skims your curves in blissful comfort and both fabrics have plenty of stretch to grow with you as they hold and support your shape.
